The Living Room Makeover: Ideas and Inspiration

One of my goals for 2013 is to revive our living room. The room is...eclectic. And not a hip, vintage-y, collected-over-time eclectic. More like a frat house-y, cast-off-from-your-parents-basement eclectic.

Since I've saved exactly zero dollars for this redo, I'm going to be doing a lot of things myself. Which means I should probably get over my fear of my sewing machine and figure out how to actually thread it.

So, here's what I can do on a limited budget:

-paint (I've started this one...I hope to have pictures for you Friday!)

-sew pillows

-find creative wall art

Watercolor over Crayon -- Alisa Burke

Chalkboard Gallery Wall at Project Nursery

Alphabet Wall at A Pop of Pretty

A Plate Wall at Nesting Place

and finally,
-sew curtains

And perhaps, once I get all these done, I can bribe some of my more advanced sewing friends to show me how to slipcover a sofa. I'm dreamin' big, people!

Thank you for visiting Peace but Not Quiet!

  1. I am so with you! Our version of eclectic sounds very similar to yours.

When we made a paper chain as a part of decorating for Christmas it made a huge difference in our decor. How sad does your decor have to be for a paper chain to seem like a significant art investment? Yikes!

Can't wait to see how your room turns out!
