I have a confession to make -- I never check my gauge before I knit and I never test my paint color before I paint. Most of the time, things work out okay...but there have been a few regrets. So I approached this project like a grown-up and got a few wee test pots of paint from Home Depot.
Allright, I was mostly grown-up about it.
I'm glad I did the testers because my favorite color in the store was the one in the middle. Painted on my wall, however, it looked like when I get the wrong color of make-up at the store and my skin turns orange. I ended up going with a shade that was much, much lighter. So the lesson here is -- take your time. Try out a few. See what you like. As it turns out, I like Behr's "Brown Teepee".
| The kid was doing his homework...I was not about to ask him to move so I could take a picture of my new wall paint |
Next up -- things to hang on the walls! And I suppose at some point, I should get some curtains or something...
