Our Indoor Fairy Garden
So last summer we made a fairy garden. It was a hugely popular project with the kids and they played with it all summer and into fall. But as school ramped up and extracurricular activities kicked in, the fairy and her garden were forgotten for a while. We found her recently, living under rather appalling conditions:
So we set up an indoor fairy garden.
I found this bowl at the thrift store and added some pebbles. I transplanted shoots from some of our indoor herbs in a small cup and added the fairy and her accoutrements.
It's turned out to be a fun midwinter project and a great homework motivator. The kids can't wait to play with the garden when they finish their work.
When she's not being actively played with, the fairy hangs out in the front entry...greeting people as they come inside.
Thank you for visiting Peace but Not Quiet! I'd love it if you'd like me on facebook or follow me on twitter.
